Stokes v. Oconee shapes up as a summer trial

Fire caused minor motel damage

A commercial dryer caught fire Saturday at the Seneca Days Inn.  Chief Caudill of the city fire department said no one was hurt, although smoke likely drifted through parts of the motel building.  A passerby spotted the Seneca department’s extended ladder truck.  According to Caudill, it’s standard protocol to send the ladder truck when a building fire is reported.

Car driver killed near Six Mile

The state patrol reports the driver of a compact car has died in a head-on accident last night on SC 137 near Six Mile.  The deceased was operating a Hyundai Elantra.  A passenger was sent for hospital treatment.  Trooper Gary Miller said the other vehicle was a Dodge Ram.  Miller is deferring to the Pickens County Coroner for an announcement […]
