A committee of the Walhalla City Council will consider whether one of its sanitation customers qualifies for a refund. The council’s public works committee meets at 5:15 pm Wednesday, July 17 at city hall.

The Anderson County coroner, Greg Shore, says a 31-year-old Townville woman died Monday in hospice care — nearly three months after she was hurt in a car accident on SC 24.  Preliminary investigation showed Jessica Goolsby traveled on 24 near Prater Gin Road, when her car left the highway, hit a culvert, and overturned.  Goolsby was thrown from the vehicle.

A 26-year-old Greer, South Carolina man, Nicolas Elias Fernandez, has been identified as the victim in Monday’s officer-involved shooting outside a home on Rolling Hills Circle, Easley.  According to Chief Deputy Coroner Andrew Wilson of Pickens County, Fernandez was struck multiple times.  The state police say Fernandez was armed with an axe.
