The Oconee superintendent of education has been blogging about it, and last night there was a full discussion by the board of trustees about the fairness of an end-of-course test that weighs on whether a student will graduate. Dr. Michael Lucas, county superintendent, has asked the question, “Could you pass the end-of-course exam in U-S history?

City of Seneca invites everyone to the re-scheduled groundbreaking ceremony of the new Hampton Inn and Suites. It’ll take place at the E. N. 1st Street site, starting at 5 this afternoon. Immediately afterward, city council will move to City Hall for its 6 o’clock regular October meeting.

Before the Oconee School District makes any change to its policy of no prayer at the start of board meetings, school leaders are going to discuss the matter with their ecumenical council. 96.3/WGOG NEWS has learned that a medical helicopter, with patient aboard, has lifted off from near a Walhalla area fire scene. The fire is reported to be a home fire, off the White Cut Road, north of the city limit. No other details immediately available.
