A bolt of lightning from the summer sky caused computer and other problems last month for Oconee County’s Coneross Wastewater Treatment Plant at Seneca. Bob Winchester, executive director, told the Joint Regional Sewer Authority commissioners last night that a yard light appears to have been the conduit for the strike. An insurance claim has been filed.    

Chairman Joel Thrift of Oconee County Council takes part today in Columbia in a meeting of the Land Use, Natural Resources and Transportation Steering Committee of the S.C. Association of Counties. Tomorrow’s District Five’s Reg Dexter’s turn to be in the capital city, for a meeting of the state association’s Revenue, Finance and Economic Development Steering Committee.

Bob Winchester, executive director of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority, used a model expansion joint to demonstrate a problem with the JRSA’s recent project to upgrade the Martin Creek pump station near Seneca.

The intersection of SC 93 and Williamson Road is the latest Clemson intersection to receive mast arm decorative traffic light poles. The work last Friday was a joint project of Clemson University and the S.C. Department of Public Safety.

The grounds of the free medical clinic in Seneca received a makeover during the weekend from a Boy Scout completing Eagle Scout requirements. Assisted by Rosa Clark secretary and board member Marlene Edmund, Brightin Blanton worked on the grounds and planted a bird house.
