In spite of a lack of support from some of his colleagues, Walhalla councilman Tjay Bagwell says he’s going forward with public information meetings, as his way to lobby the citizenry to pay higher taxes, to allow the city to make improvements. Bagwell, the mayor pro-tem, says once he sets the schedule, he’ll announce the meetings.

Replacement windows installed

Walhalla’s 200 S. Catherine Streets sports new windows, to the great relief of the friends and supporters of Old St. John’s Meeting House. A two-hour political forum is planned tomorrow night in Seneca. It’s to feature this year’s candidates for Oconee Sheriff and the State House of Representatives. Starting at 6 o’clock, tomorrow night’s forum will be held in the South Room of the Gignilliat Community Center. Refreshments will be available.
