City of Clemson has announced meetings at which officials are to devote attention to a major change at the home development Patrick Square. A planning commission workshop at 6 Tuesday night at City Hall will address the matter, so will  an informal public meeting at 5 o’clock Monday, October 8. CU President invited to Washington

James Barker, Clemson president, has accepted an invitation to be part of a panel discussion Monday in Washington, D.C. During a Department of Commerce event, Barker is to show how education and research initiatives at I-CAR, the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research, and the Clemson Restoration Institute in N. Charleston have helped drive economic development across the state.

Walhalla home fire

Walhalla Fire Department this morning is still unsure of the cause for a fire late yesterday afternoon that damaged 102 Chatterwood Drive, near the Playground Road. Captain Mark Hollifield said the fire was confined to the  living room in the mobile home, but smoke damage occurred throughout. No one was hurt.
