Two Oconee County residents have been appointed to the board of directors for the Tri-County Tech Foundation, the arm of private fund raising for the college. They are Larry Smith, plant operations manager for Schneider Electric near Seneca and Hugh Burgess, president and managing partner of Consolidated Southern Industries in Anderson. Burgess lives in Keowee Key.

A 37-year member of the Oconee Sewer Commission and its modern-day successor, the Joint Regional Sewer Authority, has stepped to the sidelines. JRSA commissioners last night expressed regret at the resignation of Howard Adams, who served as chairman for decades. Adams is succeeded by a fellow Westminster resident, city councilman Jimmy Powell. Powell attended his first meeting last night.

A suspect in a Walhalla apartment home burglary has been arrested in Georgia on unrelated charges. Lt. Paul Harris of the Walhalla Police Department confirmed this afternoon that his department holds an outstanding warrant charging Aaron Scott Gunn, 21, of Bagwell Lane, Walhalla with burglary October 7 at Stand Pointe Vista Apartments.
