Scott to speak at church event

U-S Senator Tim Scott, South Carolina Republican, will be in Seneca this month for a church event. Scott has been named speaker for a “God and Country” celebration arranged by Seneca Baptist Church, Utica Baptist Church, and the College Street Baptist Church of Walhalla. The event will take place Sunday, June 28 at the Seneca church.

An Oconee sheriff’s officer says a chase on I-85 near the Anderson County line led to the discovery of an illegal drug. Capt. Jeff Underwood said at the apprehension scene yesterday near the Dobbins Bridge Road officers found crack cocaine.

“Operation Infinity” No. 9 continues

Three more arrests have been made this week by Oconee law enforcement officers in the “Operation Infinity” drug sweep that began April 8. The Sheriff’s Office identified those arrested this week as Tarrell LeShawn Lee Williams of Seneca, and Aubrey Lake Justus and Jessica Danielle Morris, both of West Union. Five other individuals are still being sought.
