Walhalla will flush the hydrants within its system between Monday, September 28 and Friday, October 30.  The activity may cause some discoloration of water for a short time, but the city promises the water will be safe to drink.  However, if you are doing laundry, check the water ahead of time.

James Bartee gets a second chance at parole this week in Columbia.  Pete O’Boyle, spokesman for the State Probation, Parole and Pardon Board, has confirmed Bartee’s hearing Wednesday will be held in front of the entire board—whereas his failed attempt earlier this summer was handled by a three-member panel of the board.
