A fire sprinkler manufacturer is expanding its base in Pickens County.  The office of Governor Haley and the state Commerce Department are announcing a 150 thousand square foot expansion of Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Company on Smith Grove Road in Liberty.  The company is to make a $23 million investment and create 100 jobs.

A lawsuit has been filed for a student who enrolled in the Bridge program of Tri-County Tech and Clemson University.  The lawsuit, filed last week in the Oconee Common Pleas Court on behalf of Theodore Padussis, alleges negligence over living arrangements at the off-campus High Pointe apartment complex.  Named defendants were realtor/developer Tom Winkopp, Clemson University, and Tri-County Technical College.  […]

A car accidentally backed into a home late last night in the Forest Acres subdivision near Walhalla.  No one was hurt, but the car and the front part of the house sustained damage.  Walhalla fire Department responded at 10:15 last night.

  The director of Oconee public libraries, Phil Cheney, says the near 40-year old Walhalla Library is now more accessible to the handicapped.  The original entrance doors to the building were replaced yesterday by a set of electronic doors.  A special allocation from the Oconee County Council made this project possible.

Westminster leaders have narrowed the field of potential replacements for city administrator to five candidates.  Mayor Brian Ramey says arrangements will be made next week to interview the candidates by telephone.  Jeff Lord is to leave the job of city administrator next month for a post in the Berkeley County town of Moncks Corner.
