Separate high-speed chases temporarily closed parts of I-85 in northeast Georgia.  In those incidents, there were injuries and a death.  The Georgia State Patrol reported two people hurt just before the noon hour in a chase northbound that started near mile marker 173.  A 31-year-old Californian was identified as the driver of a Yukon that hit a guardrail and overturned.  […]

A large wrecker was called to an accident scene near Seneca to free a seafood box truck that became wedged in a rut off 123, the Seneca-Clemson Corridor, near Brookwood Drive.  To right and remove the truck, eastbound 123 drivers were forced to pass the rainy accident scene single file.

Besides the countless trees that have dropped to the ground, in some instances, blocking Oconee County roads, motor vehicle accidents have occurred this morning — including a rollover truck accident on north SC 11 near the intersection of the Little River Road.

The South Carolina DNR Fishing Rodeo takes place Saturday at the Piedmont Tree Nursery in Tamassee.  From 8 am to 1 pm, there’ll be fishing fun for kids 12 and under accompanied by an adult.  The young anglers should bring their own gear and equipment.  For more info, call 864/654-1671.
