All motorists should be careful, especially in the days leading up to and beyond the major driving holiday of July 4th, as evidenced by two N. SC 11 accidents in Oconee County — one this morning in front of the Jocassee Valley Brewing Company and the other on Tuesday afternoon in the Camp Oak Community.  

Kristi Burr, Oconee elections director, says hand-count audits of three randomly chosen county voting precincts yesterday matched the automated voting counts on Tuesday night.  The audits were completed at the Mountain Rest, Tamassee, and Westminster No. 2 precincts as well as, Burr says, the Early Voting precinct on day one of the early voting period.

Walhalla is requesting water users temporarily restrict outdoor water use and implement conservation measures.  Because of excessive water use, the water department is experiencing issues with system pressure.  The high temps and dry conditions have led many users to activate their outdoor irrigation systems.  The restriction until further notice is considered a temporary measure to ensure adequate supply for household […]

The Walhalla Library on S. Broad Street is the setting today for a workshop to learn how to navigate the website of the city of Walhalla.  There’ll be presentations in both English and Spanish from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Everyone is invited.  You may bring your lunch and your devices.
