A medium-sized bear was apparently struck by a vehicle yesterday on SC 183/the Pickens Highway near Snead Road.  Neither the bear’s injuries, nor its outcome could be immediately ascertained by 101.7/WGOG NEWS and by the woman who discovered the bear.  The Oconee Sheriff’s Office referred the incident to the South Carolina DNR.
