Oconee school trustees are in a forgiving mood. Last night the board, in a 5-0 vote, decided to forgive inclement weather days #s 4 and 5 on this year’s school calendar. Steve Hanvey, assistant superintendent for operations, said this morning, “We will use our 3 make up days in the calendar, the first of which is Monday, February 26.”

Facebook gab lit up late last night with people talking about a loud boom they heard in the vicinity of highway 11, from Salem to Walhalla, and as far as Toccoa, Georgia.  However, Oconee Sheriff’s Office said it received no calls about such a noise, except one inquiry from a Greenville TV station.
