Approaching a long holiday weekend

“With this being the final holiday of the summer and with Clemson opening up their 2017 season against Kent State Saturday in Death Valley, we expect traffic to be heavy from time to time from Friday thru Monday,” says Oconee Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.  The Sheriff’s Marine Unit will be present on the waterways.  At the county parks and recreation area, deputies will watch for alcohol and drug violations and will enforce any violations.  Crenshaw said, “One other factor that our citizens may want to keep in mind this weekend is an increased chance of rain in the forecast as remnants of Hurricane Harvey are expected to love.  If you are traveling on the roads and drive through some heavy showers, slow down and give yourself plenty of stopping distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you….”
