Nine charges in property crime investigation
A 35-year old Oconee man faces an additional nine charges placed by the sheriff’s office in a property crime investigation that dates back to early October. Among the charges announced by the sheriff’s office against Clinton Trey Whitworth: grand larceny, malicious injury to personal property, and petty larceny along with breaking into a motor vehicle, malicious injury to real property, and unlawful entry into enclosed places. The investigation started October 7 when a deputy responded to a gated storage facility on the High Falls Road near Waterfall Road. The sheriff’s office has identified Justin Dwain Harris, 32, as a co-defendant in the case. A stolen 2003 Chevy Tahoe, valued at $4 thousand, was recovered by the state patrol north of Salem October 10 and turned over to the sheriff’s office.
