Missing Lake Hartwell kayaker

A kayaker unaccounted for overnight in Lake Hartwell in Oconee County remains the object of a search today in the vicinity of Cartee Road.  Scott Krein of Oconee Emergency Management says search and rescuers were alerted at 2:30 this morning that one person aboard a kayak fell into the water….and did not re-surface.  Local personnel are being assisted by officers of the state DNR.  Sheriff Crenshaw says the missing kayaker has been described as a 26-year old groomsman, a male attendant to a wedding party.
