Another year ahead for Seneca bus service

Seneca officialdom is in process to offer a new year of passenger bus service.  And yesterday the city entertained public comment on plans to apply for a new round of state and federal monies to continue its electric-powered transit service throughout the city and on routes that touch parts of un-incorporated areas.  Ed Halbig, the planning and community development director, said it was disappointing that no member of the general public, nor any representatives of service providers, took part. Counting the numbers included in both the state and federal funding applications, Seneca will seek nearly $798 thousand dollars.  Because of how COVID-19 considerations figured into last year’s financial considerations, Halbig says there are some unanswered questions.
