Reward raised to solve drive-by shooting death

Anderson Area Crime Stoppers has increased the reward amount from $4,000 to $6,500 for information leading to an arrest in the 2016 drive-by shooting death of Randy Smith.

 

Randy Smith was on his way home from work on the night of March 30, 2016, when he stopped by a convenience store on East Whitner Street in the City of Anderson. As Smith exited the store, on the way to his car, he was engaged in a conversation with an acquaintance when a Black male fired shots from the front passenger window of what is believed to have been a white Chevy Cruze. Smith was struck by the gunfire and mortally wounded.

 

Investigators with the City of Anderson Police Department continue to follow leads in the case but are still looking for additional information or witnesses who can positively identify the individuals involved and bring them to justice.
