32-year old man sent to prison for 40 years

A 32-year old man in Anderson has been sent to prison for 40 years at the end of a murder trial in the General Sessions Court. Judge Scott Sprouse handed down the sentence to Jeremiah Johnson after a jury convicted Johnson of the murder and armed robbery of Chandrakant “C-J” Patel. Part of a family that managed an I-85 Exxon station, Patel left the business the evening of July 1, 2012, telling a worker he would be back. He never returned. His car was found abandoned two days later in Fair Play and his body was found July 11 in a wooded area off U-S 29 near the Georgia line.
