Seneca senior is arts scholar

One of Seneca High’s top students is the recipient of this year’s James M. Brown Scholarship for the Arts. Bethany Williams receives a scholarship in the amount of $1 thousand a year for the next four years.  Twenty years ago, one year after Brown’s death, while county superintendent, private interests set up the scholarship for a senior who plans to enter a college or a university to major in dance, drama, music or the visual arts.  Two other seniors auditioned for the award:  Bryce Johnson of Walhalla and Hope Smith of Tamassee-Salem.
