Countering negative comments about bus service

A Seneca retiree who relies on the city’s bus service to get around is releasing a report today on her observations about the free service which her city provides, through a contract with Clemson Area Transit. Anita Bearden hopes to counteract recent negative comments made to the Oconee County Council, as the county governing authority considers investing in expanded bus routes to both Walhalla and Westminster. Bearden says her personal experiences, her observations, and her talks with other bus riders confirm to her the value of a service to those who can’t afford other means of transportation and to those who believe mass transit helps save energy and money.
