Software solution found in South Dakota

Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw believes he has found the solution to his office’s software needs in the state of South Dakota. At its meeting next week, Oconee County Council is scheduled to consider a recommendation that Zuercher Technologies of Sioux Falls, South Dakota be awarded a sole source contract for a public safety software solution, at a cost of $976 thousand, 495 dollars. The software offered by Zuercher would replace software in place since 2004. But the council is being told that the current system is not user-friendly, requires different databases and, in its current condition, is not stable. The council is being told the replacement software is the only one found to have a single database and single application. It can be used in the new detention center, scheduled to be built, finished and opened by this time next year.
