Westminster – Edward Donald Smith, 85, husband of Linda Lee Smith, passed away
Friday, August 9, 2024, at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Toccoa, Georgia, he was the son of the late E.D. and Winnie Dean Smith. Donald was a retired logger, who had a great passion for flea markets, auctions, and enjoyed spending his morning time hanging out at Mosley’s catching up on the daily news, and spending time with this family. He was a saved Christian of the Baptist Faith and loved his Lord and Savior.
Donald is survived by his wife, Linda Lee Smith of sixty-three years; his sons; Jerry Smith (Anna) of Westminster, Dennis Smith (Mallory) of Westminster; daughters, Ann Freeman (Todd) of Westminster, Dianne Lyles (Randy) of Westminster, and Glenda Jones (Terry) of Westminster, brothers, James Smith, Russell Smith (Patsy), Greg Smith (Lisa) all of Westminster, South Carolina; sisters, Carol Smith O’Kelley of Westminster, South Carolina, Virginia Jones of Toccoa, Georgia, and Opal Krauel (Robert) of Maryland; seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and two on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, who he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Steve Smith, Guy Smith, Vic Smith, Rodney Smith, Joyce Smith.
A Funeral Service will be held 4:00 pm, Monday, August 12th, 2024 at Old Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Monday, August 12th, 2024 prior to the service at Old Liberty Baptist Church.
