Where does the “internal review” stand?

An internal review of what were reported as unauthorized county worker pay raises remains incomplete, according to comments made last night by David Root, attorney for Oconee County. Root spoke briefly during last night’s meeting when a member of the public complained that there has been no update to the revelation that raises, not authorized by the county council, were approved for more than 150 county workers prompted county council to seek a review of the records of county finances going back as far as July 2018. The task, originally described as a forensic audit, was assigned to a publicly unidentified company and remains unfinished, according to Root’s response last night to Oakway resident Tony Adams, who raised the issue during the public comment part of the meeting.
