A native of Nanacamilpa Tlaxcala, Mexico, Zorobabel was the son of the late Tomas and Julia Gonzales Lopez. He was a proud and faithful member of The Light of the World Church (La Luz Del Mundo) and was one of the first pioneers of the faith to settle in Walhalla in 1978. He played an

important role in the establishment of the church in 1985 which has expanded to other parts of the state as well as North Carolina and Georgia. Zorobabel was known for his dedication and commitment to

serving the Lord and was highly respected by fellow church members and the Hispanic community.

There isn’t a single person who met or knew Zorobabel that doesn’t have a story or memory to share. His personality effortlessly lit up a room and the world will be a dimmer place without his bright smile.

One of Zorobabel’s biggest accomplishments was being a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. Zorobabel perpetually radiated love, laughter, and wisdom that others longed to be a part of, even for just a moment. Those close to him, especially his grandchildren, would describe him as selfless, loving, bold, genuine, and above all, a man of faith and the world’s greatest grandfather.
