WINFRED CAMPBELL

Seneca – Winfred Lee Campbell, 77, husband of the late Bettie Jean Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at his residence.

 

Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, Winfred was the son of the late Russell William Campbell and Annie Mae Hawkins Campbell.  Winfred was the owner of the Tire Barn and Auction and a member of Old Hepsibah Baptist Church.  Winfred loved music and he enjoyed playing his steel guitar.  He will be fondly remembered for his love for all people, especially his son Tony, his other boys, who were just like sons, Rusty and Ryan; and his generous nature for always lending a helping hand to anyone in need.   

 

 Winfred is survived by his son Tony Lee Campbell; caregiver and adopted son, Russell McGuffin; brother, Alvin Campbell; and sisters, Hazel Evans and Betty Brown. 

 

In addition to his parents and wife who he loved and missed, Winfred is preceded in death by his brothers, William Campbell, and Clarence Campbell.

 

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm, Friday, May 5, 2023, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Old Hepsibah Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends and family from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
