Wind turbine energy possibility

A state lawmaker says wind turbine energy is a possibility for South Carolina, but a feasibility study is required.  The House Committee on Labor, Commerce and Industry, chaired by Seneca’s Bill Sandifer,  forwarded a bill calling for a financial impact study because there’s only one place in the state that would be conducive for wind turbines, and that’s 25 miles off the coast.  Twenty-five miles out, however, would put them in a hurricane alley.  “Coastal Heritage”, a publication of the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium, devoted its spring issue to the possibility that offshore wind could parlay into a supply chain of energy.
