William John D. Long

Anderson, SC — William John D. Long, 85, husband of Gail Marie Roach Long, of 511 Creswell Avenue, Anderson, SC, 29621, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Rainey Hospice House.

 

A native of Tamassee, SC, Mr. Long was the son of the late Lewin Lewis and Pearl Nichols Long. He was a retired reflexologist. Mr. Long was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was the Past President of the Oconee County Mental Health Association and Past President of the Walhalla Jaycees. Mr. Long was a life member of the National and International Association of Probate Judges and Past President of the South Carolina Probate Judge Association. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church.

 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Long is survived by his sons: John Roger Long, Tony William Long (Mook) and Jason Daniel Long; daughter: Pamela Jean Long McCall (Stan); grandchildren: Jon-Christopher Thompson, James William Long, Rebekah McCall Cobb (Bry), Hannah Faith Long, Esther Grace Long, Bethany Joy Long, Kaylee Marie Long and Kinsley Elizabeth Long; and great-grandchildren: Malachi William Long, Micha James Long, Isaak Ray Cobb, Terry Hayne Cobb and Maryn Jean Cobb.

 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Long was preceded in death by his brother: Alvin Claude Long.

 

All services will be private.
