“In considering what is best for the future of the Boys Basketball program” is how an Oconee school official started his statement yesterday about Matthew Rowland no longer boys’ basketball coach at West-Oak High School. Steve Hanvey, associate district superintendent, said, “In considering what is best for the future of the Boys Basketball program at West-Oak High School, the decision to move forward with new leadership has been made. Coach Rowland will continue to teach in the School District of Oconee County, and we are appreciative of Coach Rowland’s dedication to the program over the years.”
