Welfare check led to motorhome in the national forest

A 39-year-old Anderson man was arrested in Oconee County on multiple charges — resulting from a welfare check that started Monday and extended into the following day. Oconee Sheriff’s Office announces charges against Brandon Lysle Vanblarcom that include kidnapping and first-degree burglary. On Monday afternoon officers conducted a welfare check on an adult female at a Tamassee Knob Road address but could not find her.  The next day, according to the sheriff’s office, the female and Vanblarcom were found in a motorhome in the Sumter National Forest near Choehee Valley.  According to the arrest announcement, a violent crimes investigator believes Vanblarcom entered the woman’s home Monday, assaulted her, forced her to leave and accompany him in the motorhome.
