Wayne Yost

Seneca, SC— Wayne Yost, 84, of Seneca, SC, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on May 4, 2026.

Wayne was born on October 20, 1941, in Bluefield, Virginia. In 1960, he enlisted in the army, and in 1961, he married Earlene Ellenburg. During his service in Vietnam, he operated and maintained howitzer cannons for the 1st Calvary Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart, and after eight years, in June of 1967, he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant First Class.

After his military service, he worked for almost 40 years as a contracted Electrician for Davis & Daniel Construction and later for Cryovac. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church for 30 years. He was a proud Freemason and faithfully served as Past Master of the Seneca Masonic Lodge #185. He was also a Hejaz Shriner of Upstate South Carolina.

Wayne thrived in the outdoors, especially when he was with his father, son, son-in-law, or any of his countless hunting buddies. In his final days, he was still telling their best stories.
