Water conservation request called off

August 5, 2022 at 11:05 am, the City rescinds its request for voluntary water conservation made on August 4, 2022. Customers may now use water without voluntary restrictions.

Water pumps that draw water from the Ramsey Creek are operational and have filled the City’s water reservoir and replenished its water tanks. All water is safe to drink. The process for treating the drinking water is working normally. There is no need to boil water.

Thanks to the City’s water customers for assisting in the voluntary conservation. All water needs since the voluntary water conservation request was made were fulfilled by City stores of water. While no water was needed from the City of Walhalla, Westminster is thankful to Walhalla for its response to provide aid if it had been needed. The City’s and all of Oconee County are much stronger for this level of collaboration and friendliness.
