Walhalla Man Arrested in Sunday Homicide Investigation

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 23-year-old Caleb Aguirre of Walhalla and charged him with murder following the discovery of 24-year-old Brandon Alvarado-Gaspar deceased from multiple gunshot wounds inside a Snead Road residence early Sunday morning. Deputies responded to a 5:30 am call, and the subsequent investigation led to Aguirre’s arrest on Thompson Road around 6:05 am. According to arrest warrants, Aguirre fatally shot the victim in the torso; authorities believe this to be an isolated incident posing no further threat to the public, and the investigation is ongoing. An autopsy will be conducted on Monday.
