WADE LARRY SINGLETON

Oakton, VA– Wade Larry Singleton, 79, of Oakton, Virginia passed away at his home Friday, March 17, 2023, after losing his battle with cancer.

 

Born September 13, 1943, in Seneca, SC, he was the son of the late Wade Hampton Singleton and Rubye Lee Singleton. Larry is survived by his wife: Gail of 56 years; two children: Wade Singleton, Jr. (Allison) of Oakton, VA, and Crystal Singleton Ramirez (Wilmer) of Haymarket, VA.; two grandchildren: Aliana and Anneliese Singleton Ramirez; and his sister: Judy Blank (Randy) of Anderson, SC.

 

Larry was a graduate of Keowee High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He loved his family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. Larry was a driven businessman with the skills of an auto mechanic, operating his used car business for his entire career. After his diagnosis, he remained dedicated to his work, in his will to fight his illness. He remained a brave, iron-willed man even into his final days. An avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener – he grew the best heirloom tomatoes ever! Larry never met a stranger and will be greatly missed and long remembered for his humor, generosity, loyalty, perseverance, and determination.

 

The family will receive friends at Davenport Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, and funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. in Davenport Chapel conducted by the Reverends Randy Blank and Bob Marcaurelle of Anderson. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca, SC.
