W.C. “Dub” Augustus Miles

Westminster- W.C.  “Dub” Augustus Miles, 91, widower of the late Edna Burton Miles, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019, at Prisma Health, Cottingham Hospice House.  

 

Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Lee and Gerty Steel Miles.  Mr. Miles worked for many years as a Logger for Thrift Brothers and he later retired from J.P. Stevens in Seneca.  He had a love for farming and gardening. 

 

Mr. Miles is survived by his daughters, Judy Kelley of Westminster, Janice Gilliam of Westminster; brother, Tody Miles of Piedmont; sisters, Edna Mae Jones of Westminster, Geneva Williams of Westminster, Mildred Standridge of Westminster; five grandchildren, Angelia Davis, Lori Bishop, Candi Reid, Lisa Stone and Joey Stone; twelve great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and his special friend, James Smith.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Miles is preceded in death by a brother, Grover Miles; sisters, Nora Lee Moore, and Gertrude Miles. 

 

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rocky Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 1-2:30 pm, prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.

 

The family will be at the home of Judy Kelley, 427 Hobson Street, Westminster, SC 29693.  Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made in Mr. Miles’s memory to Prisma Health, Cottingham Hospice House – Attention: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672.
