Vote next week to release skateboard park money

If a vote is taken next week, Westminster will transfer the contents of a savings account for a skateboard park to an out of town athletic group. By agreement of the Oconee Skateboard Park committee, the non-profit Team Walhalla Youth Athletics will receive $10,852.37. The money represents donations from individuals who contributed to a kitty that was to have been used to build a skateboard park in Westminster, a project never realized. Westminster City Council voted September 11 to release the funds, but allowed for a 60-day period to allow claims for the money or challenges to the release. According to the city, none were received.
