Virgil Wright Meares
Westminster, SC– Virgil Wright Meares, 83, husband of Carrie Meares, of Westminster, SC, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family.
A native of West Union, SC, Mr. Meares was the son of the late Mattie Quarles Meares and William Booth Meares.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Meares is survived by sons: Greg Meares of Seneca, SC, and Stephen Clark of Alabama; brothers: Sylvester Meares, Donald Meares, and Richard Meares; sisters: Rosa Jean Little, Mary Ann Stoops, Lucia “Cookie” Burt; grandchildren: Joseph, Andy, Haley, E.J., Meredith, Sarah, Trey, Carrington, and Graham; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Meares was preceded in death by his first wife: Helen Meredith Meares; son: Kenneth “KC” Meares; daughter: Sharon M. Miller; and brothers: Cecil Meares, J.W. Meares, and Robert Meares.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Davenport Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Davenport Funeral Home.
