Upstate counties worried by increasing traffic

Julian Davis is likely to be one of three Oconee County councilmen who cross the county line into Pickens today for a meeting of their counterparts from three other counties. Davis, the new chairman of Oconee County Council, says it’s productive for county councilmen from neighboring counties to get together occasionally to talk about common problems, and he expects today’s noon hour meeting at the Pickens County Administration Building, to be one of those opportunities. He gave this example of what’s becoming a common nightmare: “Traffic is becoming a huge issue in Greenville, Pickens, and Oconee counties. That’s one of things we want to talk about—how to make this area safer to drive in.”
