Unanswered legal question clouds end of criminal proceeding

The manslaughter case against Hunter Lee Hunnicutt was concluded in the Oconee courtroom yesterday, but there’s one unresolved companion case remaining.  And it was a head scratcher for the presiding jurist.  The defense yesterday submitted itself to the judge’s sentence for voluntary manslaughter, but motioned to allow Hunnicutt to withdraw his 2019 plea to burglary first degree.  Judge Lawton McIntosh explained he’s unsure of the legal grounds for the request, but will allow defense lawyer Plowden time to further form his arguments for another hearing.
