Two Arrested, Third Wanted in Utica Mill Hill Shooting
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 18-year-olds Javon Gaylin O’Neal Leonard and Damajion Sincere Patton, both of Seneca, in connection with a Monday evening shooting on the Utica Mill Hill that left a 17-year-old driver hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators report that shots were fired from a 2012 Hyundai Elantra into the victim’s 2014 Dodge Dart near Goddard Avenue and Sirrine Street using a 9mm handgun. Both Leonard and Patton are currently held at the Oconee County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings, charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime, and Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle. Investigators—assisted by the Seneca Police Department—have also issued warrants for a third suspect on the same charges, 18-year-old Nevada Jaziah Normia Jones of Seneca, and urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Crimestoppers at 1-844-71-CRIME or online at 71crime.com.
