COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Tree finalists were announced Monday for this year’s Heisman Trophy, the highest honor in college football.  Two of the three will play in the second annual College Football Playoff with a chance to play each other in the National Championship.  The final three candidates are running back Derrick Henry from Alabama, running back/wide receiver Christian McCaffrey from Stanford, and quarterback Deshaun Watson from Clemson. Watson threw for 3,512 and 30 touchdowns and ran for 887 yards and 11 touchdowns en route to Clemson’s perfect season; he is third among QBs in rushing yards and tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns.  College football’s most coveted trophy will be handed out Saturday on ESPN.

HS BASKETBALL (GIRLS): West-Oak is now 3-0 following a  55-36 win over Greer Middle College Monday night. The Lady Warriors are back home Thursday to face Liberty. Seneca’s girls cruised past Easley 49-19 on Monday. Mary Beth Page with 13 points for Seneca.

HS BASKETBALL (BOYS): West-Oak downed Greer Middle College 75-53 on Monday.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Furman continues its four-game home stand on Tuesday night when it hosts the Liberty Flames at Timmons Arena in Greenville. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. Coverage begins at 6:30 PM on 101.7 WGOG and the Furman/IMG Sports Network.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL:  According to TMZ, Steve Sarkisian filed a lawsuit against the University Of Southern California claiming they broke the law when the fired him because he has a disability.  The former USC head coach is seeking a reported $30M in damages.

NFL: The Cowboys have climbed to within one game of first place in the NFC East after a dramatic 19-16 win in Washington Monday night against the Redskins.
