Treatment plant renovations re-set at $1.75M

The men who make policy for Oconee’s wastewaster treatment plant have re-set the budget for renovations at $1.75 million. That’s more than they first envisioned, but less than what the contractor presented last week. They finished debating the topic by taking a vote during a special Wednesday afternoon meeting at the Coneross Wastewater Treatment Plant at Seneca. In answer to a question by 101.7/WGOG NEWS, the Joint Regional Sewer Authority’s Chris Eleazer says there is no plan to raise the charges to the member cities (Seneca, Walhalla, and Westminster) to pay for what’s to be the first major work done on the administrative building since it opened nearly 40 years ago.
