Suspect wanted since August in custody

A second suspect in a pair of crimes last summer has been placed into Oconee County custody.  Since August, the sheriff’s office had been looking for William Mark Mize Jr. for whom no fixed address was known.  Now listing an address in the north central town of Statham, Georgia, 35-year old Mize faces the following charges in Oconee:  attempted murder, arson third degree, petty larceny, burglary third degree, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.  Oconee officers named Mize a suspect in two separate incidents.  On August 11, a semi-tractor trailer belonging to Goodwill Industries near Seneca was broken into and set on fire; two days later, a man was hurt by a knife-wielding attacker on Rainbow Row near Westminster.  Arrested previously, according to law enforcement reports, was an Athens, Georgia woman, Jennifer Elizabeth Beanes.
