Sound system to be pursued for community center

Walhalla’s community depot is a popular place for meetings, weddings, and other events, but it can be hard a place to hear what’s being said. The city council last night directed the city administrator to obtain cost estimates for a sound system inside the former train depot converted to a public meeting place. Mayor Edwards said an example of what people encounter in the building was the evening this month when Brent Taylor, city administrator, presented the concept of a greenway connector. Some people couldn’t hear Taylor. A soft spoken man, Taylor that night spoke louder, but still some in the audience said they couldn’t hear properly.
