SHELBY PHILLIPS

Mountain Rest – Shelby Jean Carter Phillips, 66, wife of Donald Phillips, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 23^rd, 2024 at Cottingham Hospice House.

 

Born May 9^th, 1958 in Seneca, South Carolina, Shelby was the daughter of the late Henry Fletcher and Ruth Wilbanks Carter. Shelby received her BSN from Anderson University as a registered nurse and later worked several years at Jantzen before finishing her career as a plant nurse at Koyo Bearings. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she served as the Church Secretary for many years.  Shelby had a great passion for gardening and her flowers.

 

Shelby is survived by her husband of 45 years, Donald Phillips; sister, Linda Lowery (Bob) of Mountain Rest; brother, Jack Carter (Kita) of Mountain Rest; nephew Robby Lowery (Lynn); niece, Brittany Guinn (Cory); great-nephews, Kole Lowery, Garrett Lowery; great-niece, Willow Grace Guinn; and many close friends.

 

A Graveside Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 26^th, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to all of those who prayed for Shelby after her diagnosis and to the wonderful workers at Hospice for their love and care.
