Security checks at this week’s Walhalla home game

Oconee Sheriff’s officers will use a metal detecting wand to spot check fans on their way into Razorback Stadium for Friday night’s game with Pickens. They may also spot check items brought into the stadium. Allan Seigler, a Walhalla athletic director, makes clear this is not in response to any threat, and they are not expecting trouble Friday night. Rather it’s simply a sign of the times. The spot checks will be similar to what fans were subjected to on their way into this year’s Daniel-Seneca game. The spot checks are expected to cause a slight delay getting into the stadium. Fans are reminded to leave pocket knives and other prohibited items at home or in their cars.
