Second bus hearing draws crowd to Seneca City Hall

In two days of public hearings, Seneca and Clemson Area Transit officials came away with many suggestions on how to make better the free bus passenger service in Seneca and surrounding area. Among those suggestions is to add and expand routes. Ed Halbig, Seneca’s point man for “CAT” service, wrote down the ideas expressed by the City Hall crowd. Most of those comments were received during today’s noon hour hearing. The officials heard from a crowd of loyal bus users, as well as from a number of government service agencies whose clients rely on the bus service. Steve Finger of the Ride to Work Ministry wants service for people who have manufacturing jobs west of the city limits. Requests were also made to extend routes to the areas of three apartment projects on S. Depot Street and to the South Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation on the Wells Highway. Having heard the news about two new electric buses on the way, Finger wanted to know if the buses will reach the new Tri-County Tech satellite campus on highway 11.
