Scottish company views Oconee favorably

Oconee County, so far, has been unable to close the deal to attract a textile company from the United Kingdom country of Scotland, but the county still has the company on its radar. The board of Oconee Economic Alliance was told today that the Scottish textile company has visited Oconee three times and has placed the county on its short-list as a favorable location. They target the non-woven market as they produce for the air filtration market. The prospect is on the alliance’s list of “cold status” projects—which equates to little movement of late. However, Janet Hartman, interim director, says the door is not closed to the possibility.
