Scott blames political inaction for police problems

Tim Scott, South Carolina Republican, took to the Senate floor for a 10th time to blame lawmakers’ inaction for continual brutalities caused by police — the latest of which to draw major attention Tyre Nichols in Memphis, Tennessee.  “Our nation is reeling”, complained Scott.  The office of South Carolina’s junior U-S senator released video and remarks made in the upper chamber same day of the revelation that besides 5 Memphis officers fired and now charged in Nichols’ death, two more have been relieved of their duties (but not yet fired). West Union residents are invited to their town hall at 5 this evening to meet the town’s new chief, Jeff Richardson, and for the introduction of the small town’s other new officers.  Richardson has said publicly he wants the public to be made aware of the good things that his department brings.
